Salary: Dependent on experience £25-£35k

Job location: Can be remote but Bristol and London office spaces are also available

Pledgeball is looking to appoint a Commercial Operations Manager, whose role will be to support the CEO across the work of this exciting and rapidly growing start-up charity. The role will require a degree of flexibility to cover multiple priority areas, with the main areas of works as follows:
- Project Management
- Administration
- Streamlining work flows
- Outreach and management of commercial & strategic partners
- Volunteer and staff management
- Reporting and evaluation
- Resource management
The Commercial Operations Manager will work with the CEO, core staff and volunteer team and board of trustees to oversee delivery of projects supporting the strategic priorities, and the administration and operational management of the charity across a variety of functions.
Pledgeball has been through an enormous growth period over the last 18 months, with demand for the research-led engagement expertise that Pledgeball provides being highly sort-after. The charity has very clear objectives, workstreams and targets that aim to fulfil these objectives and its overall vision. The Commercial Operations Manager will need to have an oversight of these and prioritise the management of projects, volunteers and tasks accordingly. Streamlining workflows and managing staff and material resources will also be a crucial element to this role.
Working at Pledgeball also requires attendance at various conferences, sports games and events: the role will include representing Pledgeball at some of these events both as an attendee and potentially as a speaker.
As Pledgeball enters the next phase of growth, the Commercial Operations Manager will support to optimise the efficiency of Pledgeball, ensuring that the charity continues to meet its charitable objectives.
The ideal candidate will be pivotal to the success of Pledgeball continuing to scale. They need to be:
- Fully committed to the work and mission of Pledgeball.
- Very organised.
- Evaluative in their approach, maintaining knowledge of the key objectives and KPIs of the charity and applying this knowledge in their management of projects and resource.
- Competent at tracking and reporting.
- IT literate and quick to learn.
- Willing to take the initiative.
- Keen to learn.
- Goal oriented, constantly on the lookout for smarter ways of working and able to work at pace.
- Commercially adept.
- Able to engage, enthuse and influence staff, colleagues and external stakeholders and quickly build strong and effective working relationships
- A skilful strategic operator, able to command respect at all levels and across stakeholders
- Imaginative, creative and a problem solver.
- Confident about networking, pitching and public-speaking.
About us
Pledgeball is a young, research-backed charity that works with stakeholders across the sports community, from clubs to County FAs, from fans including partners the Football Supporters’ Association to governing bodies, to raise awareness and motivate fans to take action on climate and environmental sustainability. The team currently consists of a CEO, a PR/Comms Manager, 1 part time member of staff and a volunteer team of around 10-15 people.
