Katie Cross and Laurence McKenna team up to explore the intersection of sport, culture, and climate action.

We are thrilled to announce that The Pledgeball Podcast has officially launched.

What happens when the passion of the football stands meets the urgency of climate action? Hosted by our very own CEO Katie Cross alongside football YouTube royalty Laurence McKenna, this new series is here to find out.

Each week, we will welcome a new guest to explore the intersection of sport and sustainability. From football clubs and professional players to creators, campaigners, and voices from beyond the sporting world, we are digging into the practical, realistic actions fans and communities can take to Protect Where We Play.

Episode 1: Giving food waste the red card

We are kicking off the series with a bang. In our debut episode, Katie and Laurence are joined by a man on a mission to fix our broken food system: Martyn Odell (aka Lagom Chef).

The trio discusses how we can treat our ingredients with more respect, the challenges of sustainable catering at football stadiums, and why “just enough” is the perfect recipe for success.

The Pledgeball League Update

It wouldn’t be a football podcast without a league table update.

Throughout the series, we will be joined by special guests to keep you updated on the goings-on in the Pledgeball League.

In Episode 1, we are delighted to welcome broadcasting heavyweight Sam Matterface, who drops in to give us the very first update on the standings. Tune in to find out if your club is challenging for the title or if you need to rally the fans to climb the table.
