Job Description

Job title: Project Coordinator

Salary: £26,000-£29,000

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job location: London, with hybrid working. At least 2 days per week in office.

Responsible to: CEO and Project Manager

 

Pledgeball is looking to appoint a Project Coordinator to support the staff team across the work of this exciting, rapidly growing charity, a charity that was recognised as BBC Green Sport Award organisation of the Year, 2024. 

The Project Coordinator will work with the Project Manager, CEO, core staff and volunteer team to manage and implement high quality delivery of specific projects supporting the strategic priorities of the charity. 

Pledgeball is a young, research-backed charity that works with stakeholders across the sports community, from grassroots to Premier League clubs, from fans to governing bodies, to raise awareness and motivate fans and sports organisations to take action on climate and environmental sustainability in order to accelerate the just transition. The team currently consists of four members of staff, and a volunteer team of around 15-20 people.

Pledgeball has continued to grow rapidly, with demand for the research-led engagement expertise that Pledgeball provides being highly sought-after. Further streamlining project workflows, tracking and synchronising with other colleagues will be a crucial element to this role, as well as the ability to bring a level of creative autonomy and strategic awareness.

As Pledgeball enters the next phase of growth, the Project Coordinator will support to deliver impactful and high quality projects, ensuring that the charity continues to meet its charitable objectives as well as uphold its excellent reputation.

 

Responsibilities

We are happy for all responsibilities to be supported initially, depending on prior experience.

• Project planning: including project scheduling, budget & resource mapping, creativity and out of the box thinking for how to get the most from a project.
• Liaison with stakeholders: relationship management with all parties involved in the project, such as leagues/clubs, comms staff, volunteers.
• Project delivery: Provision of status updates and the management of an ongoing project plan. Online and on-site delivery and coordination where appropriate.
• Reporting: Tracking of campaign delivery, measurement and effective communication of impact.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be pivotal to the success of Pledgeball continuing to scale. They need to be:

• Interested in sport and/or sustainability (useful, but not essential).
• Willing to learn & become interested in the wider subject of sport & sustainability.
• Willing to occasionally work on a weekend or an evening when delivering in person work
• Very organised. 
• Evaluative in their approach, maintaining knowledge of the key objectives and KPIs of the charity and applying this knowledge in their management of projects and resource.
• IT literate and quick to learn.
• Willing to take the initiative.
• Keen to learn.
• Goal oriented, constantly on the lookout for smarter ways of working and able to work at pace.
• Able to engage, enthuse and influence staff, colleagues and external stakeholders and quickly build strong and effective working relationships
• Imaginative, creative and a problem solver.
