Working with football clubs and their fans to create a greener future for the game

Pledgeball has a strong track record of working with clubs at all levels to raise awareness of the relationship between football, climate change, and sustainability, including in the Premier League, EFL, Scottish Premiership, and non-league.
We mainly do this by partnering with clubs to run dedicated Pledgeball fixtures, empowering fans to take meaningful action by making eco-friendly pledges with a competitive edge. This is a simple and effective way for clubs to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability because it helps them to reduce scope 3 emissions, improve their rankings in the Sports Positive Leagues, and meet various regulatory requirements.

Bristol City FC"Our partnership with Pledgeball has provided us with the ideal vehicle to educate and inspire fans around environmental sustainability. By running it in parallel with work to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, we’re able to be honest with supporters about our own impact while inviting them to join us on the journey.
The cumulative impact of our fanbase is demonstrably high.
The partnership has been a great success and continues to go from strength to strength."
We support clubs by delivering targeted workshops and training sessions tailored to their unique sustainability goals, too. Together with the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), we also launched the Sustainable Travel Charter, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of clubs’ travel. So far, over 14 EFL clubs have signed up, with others expected to join soon. What’s more, we co-founded Green Football Weekend, an annual campaign that brings together clubs, fans, and other stakeholders to tackle climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
