Full Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.

Entry instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions and by participating, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information. Please note nothing in these Terms restricts the participant’s statutory rights as a consumer and if required advice can be obtained from a Trading Standards Office or Citizens Advice Bureau for further information relating to these statutory rights.

Eligibility

  1. This promotion is open to United Kingdom (England, Wales and Scotland and Northern Ireland) residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and Mastercard, or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion. 
  2. The promotion will run from 00:00 on 10/04/2024 to 00:00 30/04/2024 (the “Closing Date”)inclusive (“Promotional Period”). All entries received outside this period will be invalid. 
  3. To enter the prize draw, entrants must visit the Champions Innovate Pledge League page on pledgeleague.org (redirecting to pledgeball.org/pledgeleague) and support their UEFA Champions League team by making a lifestyle pledge(s) during the Promotional Period for any of their team’s UEFA Champions League matches taking place before 02/06/2024. A lifestyle pledge is a simple behavioural change e.g. shower only for 4 mins, going vegan cycling to work.
  4. By submitting an entry to the to the prize draw, you understand and agree that you are providing information to the Promoter.The responsibility of taking consent for processing of personal data of the guest, lies with the participant cardholder. This information will be processed in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Notice available here: https://pledgeball.org/privacy-policy/
  5. One (1) submission counts as one entry into the prize draw, regardless of how many pledges are selected in this submission. A maximum of Eight (8) submissions will be permitted per person during the Promotional Period, one (1) submission per fixture. Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.If it becomes apparent that a participant is using computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’ or any other automated means, that person’s entries will be all disqualified and the prize award will be void.
  6. Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified, at the Promoter’s discretion. 
  7. Numerous factors outside the control of the Promoter may interfere with the operation of the website. The Promoter does not therefore guarantee continuous uninterrupted or secure access to website. 
  8. Incomplete, illegible, invalid or misdirected entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
  9. No purchase necessary, however, internet access is required. 

Prize and Fulfilment

  1. Entries must be received during the Promotional Period until the Closing Date. The prize draw will take place on or before 01/05/2024 and the winner (and some reserve winners) will be selected at random from all eligible entries using an independent third-party computer system. The winner will be notified by email via the details provided on the entry for, within 7 working days of the close of the promotion. Entrants are encouraged to monitor their email connections during this time in case they are the winner.
  2. The winner will have 3 days from first being contacted to accept the prize by following the instructions provided in the winning email notification, confirming them and their guest are 18+ and they are available on the specified dates. Failure to do this, or if the winner is found to be ineligible, or rejects the prize, will result in the prize being forfeited and the Promoter will award the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original winner. 
  3. Mastercard’s agency The Big Group Limited will contact the winner to commence fulfilment of their prize after valid claim and the completion of any verification process. A copy of Big Group’s privacy notice can be found here: https://www.biggroup.co.uk/privacy
  4. The winner’s full name, email address and full name of their guest will also be shared with Mastercard’s agency, Octagon Inc and UEFA.   5. 1 x prize is available to win for 2 adults aged 18 or over (one winner and one guest), which must be taken on 01/06/2024 consisting of: 2 x Category 1 tickets for the UEFA Champions League Final match on 01/06/2024 at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom for winner and one guest. 
  6. All other costs and expenses in taking up the prize, including but not limited to, spending money as required, shall be borne solely by the winner and their guest. The prize is as stated and nothing else is included. The tickets are courtesy of Mastercard, an Official Sponsor of the UEFA Champions League.
  7. There is no cash or other alternative for the prize in whole or in part except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize, or part of the prize, with one of equal or greater value at the choosing and discretion of the Promoter. 
  8. The prize is date and event specific and cannot be transferred or postponed to a later date. Prize must be taken on 01/06/2024. Entrants should ensure that they are available during this period in case they are the winner. Failure to be able to attend will result in the prize being forfeited and the Promoter will award the prize to an alternate winner. If an alternate winner cannot be found prior to the event date, the Promoter will dispose of the prize without liability to the winner.
  9. If fulfilment or any element of this prize draw will be delayed or affected due to government restrictions, and/or those outside of the reasonable control of the Promoter, all entrants affected will be contacted by the Promoter and kept updated of any unavoidable changes to the promotional dates, revised fulfilment dates or prize. 
  10. Failure to comply with all of the above may result in the prize being forfeited and the Promoter may at its absolute discretion award the prize to an alternative winner at Mastercard’s discretion without liability to the winner. The decision of the Promoter is final.

Other Important Information

  1. If the football match is cancelled for reasons outside of the Promoter’s control or for reasons related to health and safety, without any liability to the Promoter or any obligation to arrange an alternative prize, there will be no rescheduling this element of the prize.
  2. The Promoter, Mastercard and its agents do not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the prize draw or as a result of accepting the prize or any element of the prize. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, Mastercard and its agents are not liable or responsible for any injury, loss or damage to persons or property arising from or caused by the weather, acts of God, war, accident, pandemic or epidemic and any related government action or any other government restrictions or regulations, or from an act or omission of any individual or condition beyond its control. 
  3. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to adhere to the Wembley Stadium and UEFA regulations and the Terms and Conditions of the tickets that form part of their prize.   4. The winner and their guest take part in the prize at their own risk and to the fullest extent allowed by law. The Promoter and Mastercard will have no liability in relation to the conduct of the winner or guest, nor in connection with any circumstances outside its control with respect to the prize once fulfilled. The winner and their guest are subject to the policies and Terms and Conditions of any and all third parties involved in the fulfilment of the prize. Any Terms and Conditions applicable to the prize have been provided to the fullest extent possible.
  5. Any additional personal information collected by these third parties including Wembley Stadium and UEFA will be subject to their privacy practices and Mastercard will not be responsible for processing of the same.   6. The winner is responsible for the behaviour of themselves and their guest whilst taking the prize. The Promoter reserves the right in its absolute discretion to exclude the winner and/or their guest from participation in any aspect of the prize if any party fails to comply with the directions of the Promoter or any companies associated with the prize or if the winner and/or their guest act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public or is, in the opinion of the Promoter, anti-social in any manner or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others. 
  7. The Event Organiser reserves the right to remove the winner and/or guest not acting in adherence with stadium regulations.
  8. The Event Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to the event to any person regardless if they have a valid ticket.
  9. Please note that flash photography will be used throughout the evening.

General

  1. The Promoter will make available the prize winner’s surname and country of residence upon request by emailing mastercard.promotions@biggroup.co.uk, within 3 months after the Closing Date of this promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any or all such requests. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope by contacting info@pledgeball.org.The Promoter may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so to indicate that a valid prize award took place.   2. It is the responsibility of each entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the promotion and accepting the prize. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for the winner failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or prize fulfilment. 
  3. Sale, transfer or exchange of any part of the prize is strictly prohibited.Any attempt to sell, transfer or exchange the prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by the Promoter and the prize will be declared null and void unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter.
  4. The Promoter will not be held responsible for the winner and/or their guest not taking advantage of their prize due to health or any other reason.
  5. The Promoter has no control over internet or communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent a participant’s entry to the promotion. 
  6. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the total cash value of the prize as at the date of entry.
  7. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winner including but not limited to asking for proof of address and ID (passport or equivalent) and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the spirit of the promotion or any instructions forming part of this promotion’s entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or won using fraudulent means.  
  8. If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms and Conditions the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.
  9. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
  10. These Terms and Conditions (and any non-contractual issues which arise out of or in connection with them) will be governed by relevant English law with any disputes as to the meaning of these Terms and Conditions subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
  11. The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and for no other purpose. You acknowledge that the Promoter will pass such information to its third-party agencies Big Group Limited and Octagon Inc., solely for the purposes of administering the promotion. Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current Data Protection legislation. You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to info@pledgeball.org. By participating in the promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here.
