Full Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions as set out below (the “Terms”) apply to the UEFA Champions Innovate Pledge League Under 18s prize draw promotion (the “Promotion”), and prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.
Entry instructions (found at pledgeball.org/pledgeleague) are deemed to form part of the Terms and by participating in the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms. Please retain a copy of these Terms for your information. Please note nothing in these Terms restricts the participant’s statutory rights as a consumer and if required advice can be obtained from a Trading Standards Office or Citizens Advice Bureau for further information relating to these statutory rights.

Eligibility
- The Promotion is open to United Kingdom (England, Wales and Scotland and Northern Ireland) residents aged under 18 or under, excluding employees of the Promoter, and their immediate families, or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
- Entrants must get consent from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) before entering. The parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of entrants under 18 agree to these Terms on behalf of the entrant, and warrant and represent that they have the right and authority to enter into the Promotion on behalf of the entrant. Please note that “You” may also mean the relevant parent(s) or legal guardian(s). Proof of age and identity will be required if you are a prize winner.
Entry period
3. The Promotion will run from 00:00 on 02/05/2024 to 00:01 02/06/2024(the “Closing Date”)inclusive (the “Promotional Period”). All entries received outside of this period will be invalid.
How to enter
4. To enter the Promotion, entrants must visit the Champions Innovate Pledge League page on pledgeleague.org (which will redirect you to pledgeball.org/pledgeleague) and support their UEFA Champions League team by making a lifestyle pledge(s) during the Promotional Period for any of their team’s UEFA Champions League matches taking place before the Closing Date. A lifestyle pledge is a simple behavioural change e.g. shower only for 4 mins, going vegan, cycling to work. The entrant must also select that they are under 18 on the registration page.
5. By submitting an entry to the to the prize draw, you understand and agree that you are providing personal information to the Promoter. The responsibility of taking consent for processing of personal data of the guest, lies with the Promoter. This information will be processed in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Notice available here: https://pledgeball.org/privacy-policy/.
6. One (1) submission counts as one entry into the prize draw, regardless of how many pledges are selected as part of the one (1) submission. A maximum of four (4) submissions will be permitted per person during the Promotional Period, with a maximum of one (1) submission per fixture. Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.If it becomes apparent that a participant is using computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’ or any other automated means, that person’s entries will be all disqualified and the prize award will be void.
7. Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified (except where in accordance with clause 2), at the Promoter’s discretion.
8. Numerous factors outside the control of the Promoter may interfere with the operation of the website. The Promoter does not therefore guarantee continuous uninterrupted or secure access to the website.
9. Incomplete, illegible, invalid or misdirected entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
10. No purchase is necessary as part of any submission, however, internet access is required.
Prizes
11. 1 x football prize is available to win for 86 young people aged under 18.
12. The football prize may be either a replica official match ball, competition ball or mini ball from the UEFA Champions League 23/24 Group Stage or a replica official match ball, competition ball or mini ball from the UEFA Champions League 23/24 Knock out (including the final) Stage.
Prize conditions
13. There is no cash or other alternative for the prize in whole or in part except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize, or part of the prize, with one of equal or greater value at the choosing and discretion of the Promoter.
14. If fulfilment or any element of this prize draw will be delayed or affected due to government restrictions, and/or those outside of the reasonable control of the Promoter, all entrants affected will be contacted by the Promoter and kept updated of any unavoidable changes to the Promotional Period or other Promotion related dates, revised fulfilment dates or the prize.
15. Failure to comply with any of the Terms may result in the prize being forfeited and the Promoter may at its absolute discretion award the prize to an alternative winner, without liability to the winner. The decision of the Promoter is final.
Winner selection
16. Entries must be received during the Promotional Period. The prize draw will take place on or before 07/06/24 and the winner (and some reserve winners) will be selected at random from all eligible entries using an independent third-party computer system.
Winner notification
17. The winner will be notified by email via the details that are provided on the entry form, within 7 working days of the Closing Date of the Promotion. Entrants are encouraged to monitor their email connections during this time in case they are the winner.
Claiming the prize
18. The winner will have 7 days from first being contacted to accept the prize by following the instructions provided in the winning email notification, which include, confirming that they are under 18 and that their parent/guardian has consented to their entry and to these Terms, which they have read. Failure to do this, or if the winner is found to be ineligible, or rejects the prize, will result in the prize being forfeited and the Promoter will award the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original winner, in accordance with clause 16 above.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winner including but not limited to asking for proof of address and ID (passport or equivalent) and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these Terms, the spirit of the Promotion or any instructions forming part of this Promotion’s entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the Promotion or won using fraudulent means.
Prize delivery
20. The winner’s full name and email address will also be shared with Mastercard’s agency, Octagon Inc. A copy of Octagon’s Privacy Policy can be found here: https://www.octagon.com/privacy-notice/.
21. Mastercard’s agency Octagon Inc will then contact the winner to commence fulfilment of their prize after a valid claim and the completion of any verification process has taken place by the Promoter.
22. Any additional personal information collected by this third party will be subject to its privacy practices and the Promoter will not be responsible for processing of the same.
Liability
23. The Promoter, Mastercard and its agents do not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the prize draw or as a result of accepting the prize or any element of the prize. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, Mastercard and its agents are not liable or responsible for any injury, loss or damage to persons or property arising from or caused by the weather, acts of God, war, accident, pandemic or epidemic and any related government action or any other government restrictions or regulations, or from an act or omission of any individual or condition beyond its control.
24. The Promoter and Mastercard will have no liability in relation to the conduct of the winner(s), nor in connection with any circumstances outside its control with respect to the prize once fulfilled. The winner is subject to the policies and Terms and Conditions of any and all third parties involved in the fulfilment of the prize. Any Terms and Conditions applicable to the prize have been provided to the fullest extent possible.
25. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to £50.
Other Important Information
26. The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the Promotion and for no other purpose. You acknowledge that the Promoter will pass such information to its third-party agency Octagon Inc., solely for the purposes of administering the Promotion. Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current Data Protection legislation. You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to info@pledgeball.org. By participating in the Promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described in these Terms.
General
27. The Promoter will make available the prize winner’s surname and country of residence upon request by emailing mastercard.promotions@biggroup.co.uk, within 3 months after the Closing Date of this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any or all such requests. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope by contacting info@pledgeball.org. The Promoter may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so to indicate that a valid prize award took place. A copy of the ASA’s Privacy Policy can be viewed at https://www.asa.org.uk/general/privacy-policy.html.
28. It is the responsibility of each entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the Promotion and accepting the prize. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for the winner failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or prize fulfilment.
29. The Promoter will not be held responsible for the winner not taking advantage of their prize due to health or any other reason.
30. The Promoter has no control over internet or communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent a participant’s entry to the Promotion.
31. If for any reason any aspect of this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion or invalidate any affected entries. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these Terms, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.
Accessing the Terms
32. Any website on which these Terms are posted is only intended to be accessed from the United Kingdom and where permitted by law. The Promoter makes no representation that materials relating to the Promotion are appropriate or available for use at other locations. Access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is strictly prohibited.
Severance and waiver
33. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect. The Promoter’s failure to enforce any of the Terms will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Law and jurisdiction
34. These Terms (and any non-contractual issues which arise out of or in connection with them) will be governed by relevant English law with any disputes as to the meaning of these Terms subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
