Impact Assessor
Pledgeball is a research-backed charity that engages sports communities on environmental sustainability. Fans of sports teams, from grassroots to professional, are encouraged to make pro-environmental pledges in support of their clubs, venues and teams. This determines the club’s standing within a Pledgeball League table.
The Monitoring and Evaluation strategy assesses the impact that Pledgeball has on those who engage with it, informing strategy and providing demonstrable benefit. The current strategy was developed with academic experts, peer reviewed and builds upon the assessment carried out at Pledgeball’s pilot club.
Pledgeball aims to shift participants’ perspectives on climate action, empowering them to make sustainable choices and increasing awareness around the impact of our choices, ultimately leading to sustained pro-environmental behaviour change.
Pledgeball is working with Birmingham County FA as well as with the Lawn Tennis Association and requires case studies assessing impact to be carried out and written up for both cases. The Impact Assessor will be responsible for the collection, analysis, reporting and evaluation of evidence on the impact of Pledgeball in line with Pledgeball’s objectives and Monitoring and Evaluation strategy, as well as drawing upon existing relevant research to draw your conclusions. Alongside collecting, collating, and analysing the relevant data, the Impact Assessor will be responsible for drafting the case studies for presentation to clients. You will collaborate with our trustee Dr Mark Doidge, a research fellow who oversees Pledgeball’s Monitoring and Evaluation strategy, as well as with relevant members of the team (as required).
We are looking for applicants with advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, strong evaluation, research and project management skills, and a proven track record in conducting multi-method evaluations using a range of techniques. You should have a Masters Degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with demonstrable experience of research methods (e.g. internet-based surveys, interviews, focus groups) and a good understanding of data analysis and presentation of findings.
If you have a passion for developing innovation through research, then we want to hear from you!
