Salary: £25,000 pro rata (potential for London weighting)
Hours: 40 hrs per week 
Job Location: Hybrid, primarily remote, with London and Bristol offices available

Are you passionate about football and sport and using it as a platform to address climate change and environmental sustainability? Do you thrive in a varied, fast-moving environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Content Creator at Pledgeball! As a Content Creator, you will be at the forefront of engaging fans, taking the initiative to generate creative content to reach and engage fans across all sports, with a primary focus on football. Your role will be integral to our mission as you collaborate with the PR/Communications Manager, volunteer media team and other colleagues to drive our communication efforts, build our brand identity, and engage our audiences effectively. 

  • Well-versed with content that engages football and sports fans and the platforms through which they access content 
  • Can create engaging content, including videos, graphics and copy for emails, web stories and social media
  • Enthusiastic and willing to take the initiative
  • Enthusiastic about attending games and interviewing fans 
  • Reliable and able to work independently and take responsibility for your outputs

  • Generation of engaging videos, graphics, interactive content and social media posts that drive more engagement from our current audience and bring in new audiences
  • Generation of copy for web posts on our own site as well as partner clubs and organisations
  • Content creation for effective email marketing, some relevant to those engaged in the environment and sustainability and some targeting those interested in Pledgeball due to their interest in sport
  • Working closely with the PR/Communications manager to test content and adapt the content creation to best meet our aims
  • Applying the current research on effective engagement on climate change and sustainability
  • Working effectively with the volunteer media team and colleagues
  • Attendance at certain sports games and sector-specific events

  • Ability to generate very engaging videos, graphics and social media posts
  • Ability to create engaging emails, press releases and blogs
  • Ability to adapt content in response to the performance of previous content
  • In-depth knowledge of football fan-specific channels and some knowledge of other channels for other sports fans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and creativity
  • Experienced in communicating with sports fans
  • Willingness to learn and to undertake training on effective engagement in climate

  • Experience in engaging people on climate

Pledgeball is a young, award-winning, research-backed charity that works with stakeholders across the sports community, from clubs to County FAs, from fans, including partners with the Football Supporters’ Association to UEFA and the Lawn Tennis Association, to raise awareness and motivate fans to take action on climate and environmental sustainability. The team currently consists of a CEO, 2 members of staff and a volunteer team of around 15-20 people.
