Pledgeball is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the staff team across the work of this exciting, rapidly growing charity, a charity that has been recognised as the BBC Green Sport Award organisation of the Year.

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 pro rata 
Hours: 24 hrs per week

Pledgeball is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the staff team across the work of this exciting, rapidly growing charity, a charity that has been recognised as the BBC Green Sport Award organisation of the Year

For the role, we are looking for someone to take the lead on some of Pledgeball’s operational projects and specific campaigns, as well as bridge the gap between the various operational projects and the communication of these.

The Project Manager will work with the CEO, core staff and volunteer team to oversee delivery of specific projects supporting the strategic priorities of the charity. 

Pledgeball has been through an enormous growth period over the last 2 years, with demand for the research-led engagement expertise that Pledgeball provides being highly sought-after. Streamlining workflows and managing staff and material resources will be a crucial element to this role, as well as the ability to bring a level of creative autonomy and strategic awareness.

As Pledgeball enters the next phase of growth, the Project Manager will support to optimise the efficiency and impact of Pledgeball, ensuring that the charity continues to meet its charitable objectives.

  • Plan and implement projects
  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Liaise and build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
  • Define tasks and required resources
  • Collect and manage project team
  • Manage the project budget
  • Allocate project resources
  • Create a project schedule and timeline
  • Support and direct team
  • Lead quality assurance
  • Report on the project status
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project deliverables
  • Evaluate and assess the result of the project

The ideal candidate will be pivotal to the success of Pledgeball continuing to scale. They need to be:

  • Fully committed to the work and mission of Pledgeball.
  • Very organised and experienced at managing projects.
  • Evaluative in their approach, maintaining knowledge of the key objectives and KPIs of the charity and applying this knowledge in their management of projects and resource.
  • IT literate and quick to learn.
  • Willing to take the initiative.
  • Keen to learn.
  • Goal oriented, constantly on the lookout for smarter ways of working and able to work at pace.
  • Able to engage, enthuse and influence staff, colleagues and external stakeholders and quickly build strong and effective working relationships

Pledgeball is a young, research-backed charity that works with stakeholders across the sports community, from clubs to County FAs, from fans including partners the Football Supporters’ Association to governing bodies, to raise awareness and motivate fans to take action on climate and environmental sustainability. The team currently consists of three members of staff, and a volunteer team of around 10-15 people.
